Title: Website up!
Post by: Potzo on Jan 31, 2009, 23:23:33
So yeah here it is!

Design itself was done long time ago, but now heres final with SSI code from SMF implementation.

I am not sure about the logo, i can say that was just a bit experimenting, we'll see how that'll go.

Coding was done in one day, and i was pretty upset a some points, like having problems with shoutbox. Like you can see it has different style then the one on forum, so yea i had to change that.
Also i had problems with Login/Logout Redirect, probably i spent most of time on that.

The great thing is that the whole website is fully working with SMF system, that means all pages are either posts in boards or separeted topic for one input only.

So if any Owl or Admin wants to post a "News" post in here, just create new topic under Announcements. It'll be shown on Website frontpage.
Also later on i'll add for pages like Gallery, Members, About to be pointed on specific topics.

Also, with new website theres Calendar. So clan meetings, clan wars or something else important must be posted like this.

For Forum groups Owls and Admins:
Click Calendar on Forum, then select date and then click Post Event, you'll be asked where you'll post new topic (in which board). So if you're etc. planning for a Clan meeting, post in Announcements.

It'll be automaticly shown on Front page of Website as well in Orange Bar.

Feel free to reply in this topic to ask something more.

Also if you found some bug let me know. If you have any suggestions or something else i would appreciate some comment about the new website :P

veeery nice page tomo!
you are such a really nice design-website-ultra-professional  :o ;)

just one little idea of improvement^^: If you put the preloader in a function and call it in body.onload, the page will be loaded much faster on first visit I think
and I'm not sure if the preloader works at all.. maybe you can use this:

Code: [Select]
function PreloadBGImages()
{
  BGImages=new Array("", "1", "2", "3", "4", "5");

  window.preload=new Array();
  for(var i=0; i<BGImages.length; i++)
  {
    window.preload[i]=new Image();
    window.preload[i].src=("./images/background"+BGImages[i]+".jpg");
  }
}

<body onLoad="PreloadBGImages();">

btw: did you use experts-exchange.com? ^^
