Title: [Tutorial] How to work with Multiplayer Map Editor
Post by: Potzo on Dec 30, 2010, 15:11:54
Tutorial for untouched server config file!
In your MTA installation folder you can find /server folder.

1. Start the MTA Server.exe

You can modify /mods/deathmatch/mta/mtaserver.conf file if you want, but not needed.

2. Admin Account

3. Close server

To make it easier for you, just close MTA Server.exe window and start it again.

4. Starting editor

5. Server ready

If you did all alright, you should get the normal Map Editor working in your server.
Give your friends IP and Port and they can join you.

Still can't connect? Open ports on router.
Find instruction for your router how to do it.
Like this:

Make sure you use this IP address of LAN or otherwise it wont work:

Since anyone can join, be careful, put password in your server (mtaserver.conf file)
Everything you do now is the same as in Map Editor.
If someone still has some questions, ask here :D

actually you don't have to enable the whole range but only ports 22003 UDP and 22005 TCP in standard configuration
(game port UDP, http port TCP)

Hey!! this is a thanks for me to! -___-'  lol   and still is not good! I will never connect if i don't check  mtaserver.conf

Is ok ToMo just some points that have to be made.
NOTE!

Go to C:\Program Files\MTA San Andreas\server\mods\deathmatch
Look for the file mtaserver or mtaserver.conf that file can be open with Notepad but I recommended Notepad++.

It will look like this
(http://i56.tinypic.com/2dchkyv.jpg)

Look for the line that say:
I will be 0 by default *you need to make it 1 or other people will not be able to connect on your sever*

Q: why?

A: Because if is 0 your server will be always going to LAN not to internet.

Is recommend to make a password for your server *you do that in this file*

Well if you do all this steps you will get it to work!

_Remember to forward ports!

_Make your self ADMIN ( Extended explanation: http://ownageowls.com/forum/tutorials/setting-up-your-own-server/ (http://ownageowls.com/forum/tutorials/setting-up-your-own-server/) )

_To test if your server is ready for connections, in the console *that is the MTA Server.exe* do ( openports )

actually you don't have to enable the whole range but only ports 22003 UDP and 22005 TCP in standard configuration
(game port UDP, http port TCP)
Well is just depend of what router you are using, some of then you open ports one by one, others just the range!
